Making Listening Work: Do’s, Don’ts, and Tech for Engaging Listening Activities

Summary

How can we make sure that students are actually learning to listen? In this webinar, we will first briefly explore how listening comprehension works and what can go wrong when we listen. Based on that, we will discuss what works and what doesn't when it comes to listening activities for our classroom, with some do’s and dont’s to create effective and engaging activities and practical examples to enhance your listening activities. We will also look at some free, easy to use online tools.

About the presenter

Chiara Bruzzano, PhD, is the founder and manager of LanguagEd, a teacher training company based in Italy. She also writes the popular LanguagEd Sunday newsletter and a monthly blog for Modern English Teacher.

Chiara is also the principal investigator on a British Council-funded research project and an associate MA TESOL supervisor at the University of Leeds. She has worked as a teacher and teacher trainer in Italy, Spain and the UK, and presented at many international conferences.
